TIM brought 15 spaces and a 5G-connected activation to Rock in Rio.

The main activation, by the way, was designed to push the limits of Cidade do Rock: a 5G karaoke experience connecting amateur talents through holography with the band performing remotely, with booths also located outside the festival grounds. The singer of the moment appeared as a hologram alongside the musicians, in an activation never before seen at major festivals. Two booths—called the 5G Karaoke Studio—were spread throughout Cidade do Rock for anyone who wanted to sing, and an additional, even more remote booth was set up at the TIM store in the New York City Center shopping mall.


For the first time, TIM also sponsored one of the festival’s amusement park attractions: Mega Download, a 30-meter-high tower and one of the most radical attractions at Cidade do Rock. Participants could sing while moving up and down at speeds of up to 50 km/h, alluding to the operator’s ultra-fast 5G speed. At the end, participants received a QR code granting access to an exclusive video of their experience.
